Jan 19 2007, 8:19 PM EST I was diagnosed with (ALL) Leukemia when I was 2 years old. I am now 19 years cured of my cancer. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Leukemia Survivor
Jan 21 2007, 10:45 PM EST Mark, you mentioned that you also relapsed. When was that? How long after the initial diagnosis was the relapse? I'm curious, do you remember anything from your time with cancer? I've always wondered if really young kids remember the treatment they go through, or if those memories just fade with time. Congratulations on making it, by the way. I hope you have a very long and very healthy life. I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to respond to your comment before this -- I've been busy with my mom. She just had surgery for breast cancer. Take care -- I look forward to hearing more about what you remember about your cancer experience, and what this means for you now as a young adult. If you need any help posting to the site, just ask and I'll help you through it. Louise, wikiCancer moderator Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Leukemia Survivor
Jan 21 2007, 11:55 PM EST Hi, sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she is ok. Yes, I actaully remember a lot from then. I am 22 years old now but I still remember the smells, faces, and treatments. I relapsed a month or 2 after I was diagnosed in Nov 1987. It did not hit me as hard then like it does now though. Even though it was very tramatic.....I would not have changed it. I love who I am now and my life. I would not have met the same people along the way. Now all that is left is a scar (physical and emotional) that reminds me to live my life as if it were my last. Thanks for the reply, take care. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
