I appreciate where you're coming from but....
Jan 7 2007, 10:12 PM EST This is not helpful for people with brain cancer, or many other forms of cancer. In fact, this is great information for people who had certain types of cancer detected early, but for those diagnosed at the end stage, this article is not helpful. I agree that there is a mind/body connection to illness, and that food matters, but honestly, that alone is not going to help a great many people who develop cancer. I also find the tone of this article to be hurtful. Many people get cancers which are rare, hard if not impossible to detect until it's too late, and brought on by environmental factors which we are all exposed to everyday on this planet. It's disheartening to see something like this on wikiCancer, at least, worded the way it is now. I do understand the intention to help is there but I think this needs a more compassionate presentation and possibly, more scientific support. Science does support these views, the information is out there, just find it and link to it. Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 7 2007, 11:17 PM EST Hi Carrie, I added a disclaimer at the beginning of this article since I believe, as you do, that this type of thinking and advice can be detrimental to people seeking treatment. Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 8 2007, 11:12 AM EST Not a problem, Carrie. I really appreciate all your contributions. That disclaimer was something I had meant to do awhile ago, but it slipped my mind. I'm glad you pointed the article out. Do you find this valuable? |
