Even though you have had a hysterectomy, you could still be at risk of ovarian cancer, especially if you have a family history of breast, ovarian, or colon cancer. When you had your hysterectoym, did they take your ovaries out? If not, you could be at risk of ovarian cancer. Also, the peritoneal cavity of the pelvis contains similar cells as the ovaries, and you can develop a cancer called Primary Peritoneal Cancer which has the same symptoms as ovarian cancer. Nov 8 2007, 7:01 AM EST i have had breast cancer [grade 1], but for the last 6 or 7 months i have a cyst on the right ovary, i get pain down the right side by the pelvis, don't eat due to feeling nausea, urinate more often, down to2 dress sizes. they say that the cyst looked smaller on two different types of scans, but they were really looking at stomach problems, but now i have an appointment with a gyny. Do you find this valuable? |
