In stage four, radiation attempts made, patient is 90 years old, problem, swallowing around the tumor. How does the patient keep from being constipated when only on a liquid diet? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Is the patient on pain medication (opioids)? This could contribute to the constipation, which may be controlled by laxatives, GI stimulants, and enemas. However, you will need to speak to the healthcare providers of the patient to best determine how to prevent/manage the constipation.

Best of luck.
