Metastic Squamous cell carcinoma
May 17 2006, 10:09 PM EDT My friend has just been diagnosed with Squamous carcinoma and is waiting to meet with oncologist. Does anyone out there have anything like this?

Mar 27 2007, 12:46 PM EDT Hello i was just diagnosed with this disease of the tongue. I am scheduled for surgery in 1 week. My tumor is the size of 4cm and it will require that 30-50 percent of my tongue be removed. I will have surgery to reconstruct my tongue by taking vessels from my forearm and this will be shaped into a piece of a tongue. I will also have the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck removed. I am told that that i have a 70 percent chence of a full recovery. I suggest that you look at all options available including meeting with a surgeon. having a ct scan and or an MRI is very important. I wish you the best.
