multiple myeloma
May 3 2006, 4:27 PM EDT
My father was diagnosed with this cancer on 2/19/05. He lived less than 4 months after being diagnosed. It was the worst thing, that I personally, had to see someone go through. I'm still greiving today. It was shocking to see how quick he lost the ability to normal everyday activities, like walking by yourself. The medicine the oncologist put him on for the cancer affected his liver and caused damage, so they had to take him off it. He lost the function of his kidneys and had to be put on dialysis(spelling?). In the end he was not able to feed himself, etc. The one thing I'm grateful for was that my mother was not here to see him go through this. She passed away June 10, 2004. My father passed away on June 11, 2005. I know that they are together again. They missed their 45th anniversary by 10 days when my mother passed from heart bypass surgery complications.
I don't know too much about this disease, except the fact that it is a very agressive cancer if it's not caught in it's earliest stages.

My dad to has mm. He was diagnosed 2 months after his tripple by-pass surgery and as he just had his 59th birthday. He just had a heart attack and is in hospital right now. I want to get him home as I know the hospital is depressing him further. I wonder how I'm going to get through this. Just last year he weighed 250 pounds and now he weighs less than me (140). Nobody deserves to end life like this and I feel sorry for him and the fear he is going through. I wish I could take it all away.
