Two and one-half years after menopause, I began to notice light blood spotting appear on my panties. I had taken hormone therapy for one year to help me through the hot flashes and other symptoms, but had discontinued the medications 6 months earlier. No other symptoms, just light spotting, which I mentioned to my gynocologist during my yearly pap. She found a small cancerous tumor within my uterus.

• vaginal bleeding after menopause
• unusual vaginal bleeding and/or discharge
• pain during intercourse
• difficult or painful urination
• pelvic pain

Treatment Options:
Treatment generally consists of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or hormone therapy. The size of the tumor, grade of the tumor, stage of the cancer and whether hormones affect the tumor help determine which treatment or treatments will be used.
