My name is Toni and this is my story. I was diagnosed in August of 1999 with what was believed to be a stage I breast cancer. They were wrong, almost dead wrong in my case. As it turns out a year later I discovered that I actually had metastatic breast cancer to the bone.

I consider cancer a blessing because it has forced me to take a look at my life and make changes. I'm not longer a type A personality and I've stopped and taken time to enjoy a simpler life. I even own a little dog now, something I never would have done before because I was always on the road for my job.

My cancer has afforded me the opportunity to share my voice with others. I was blessed to be interviewed in the documentary "Flight From Death" which has just been released on DVD.

My life has changed for the better. While in my medical chart once said I was incurable, I prefer to think of myself as "incurably alive".

I am living proof that the will to live does play a part in the outcome. I may eventually die from my cancer, but I will not go easy. No one will ever be able to say that I lost my battle to cancer. I'm going to go out a winner.
