Super-easy chai tea

Take the lid off a steaming pot of Chai and you can breathe in the entire continent of India. This is a quick way to make the tasty brew. Great for settling into the couch on a rainy day with a blanket and a good book!

Yield
About two cups

Ingredients
You'll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger root, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 12 whole black peppercorns
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 2 Darjeeling tea bags
  • 1/2 cup low-fat milk

Directions
Combine everything but the milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for five minutes. Pour in the milk and place on medium heat until hot, but not boiling. Pour into a teapot and serve.
