Headline: PET cancer imaging not foolproof

About 85 percent of cancer cases go undetected by positron emission tomography, or PET, imaging, according to a study by the National Cancer Center in Tokyo.

PET imaging had been considered an advanced method for diagnosing cancer and was reputedly able to detect cancerous tissue throughout the body at once, but the center's survey has thrown cold water on this belief.
