Invasive Lobular cancer
I was told that on August 3, 2007, I have Stage IV Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer. I was stunned, scared and lost. I have been blessed with good health, but this was not something that would have been detected 3 months earlier with a Mammogram. The ultrasound was dead on, but it was also something I could feel then too. Mine is estrogen and progesterone based so the new aramatese Femara is something I started. Less than 3 weeks after starting this the lump in my breast has reduced by 45%. Great news. I also have a mass on my liver (although it is at 100% function level), and I have to wait, they say, until the next PET to know what is happening with that. I am a fighter and so this is just another curve ball in live..
It's a bad curve ball, but I don't give up on things and I am not giving up here. Attitude is more than half of the battle in everything and I think this is no different. I could wake up an moan and groan, but that won't move me forward. I told my oncologist, that I am a fixer and I deal with big problems.. I am now my new project and this is a fight to the finish.. I like winning.
I explained that my philosophy was simple, get the best team you can, put a plan of action together and then execute like your life depends on it.... because it often does. I am looking forward to reporting good things as that is just the way it is and should be. I need to add that my team includes the Great Physician (God) and I belive all things are possible. He created really smart folks and he is my constant savior and friend. My husband is also the best supporter I could ever dream of. A constant companion that is trying to make life as "normal" as possible, in an very abnormal time. I will always look at things differentlyl and I am thankful for that s I may have missed the best opportunity in life, and that is to be truly greatful for every blessing we have.
I pray for all of us as, this is not a solitary journey, it is a journey made up of champions, who are fighting every day. Remember how we impact everyone around us and yes, how they impact us, so we can all be the supporter we need to be.
Much love and health.
