My mother was diagnosed with stage III Endometrial cancer and has had her complete hysterectomy with a 90% debulking of the tumor. She is to have chemothrapy in a couple of weeks and hopefully we'll see remission of the tumor. Any suggestions Louise? My Mom is 63 years old. Thanks for any help. Do you find this valuable?

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's cancer. The good news is that endometrial cancer is considered highly curable. 90% debulking of the tumor sounds promising for her stage -- do you have any idea where the remaining tumor is?

My suggestions now would be to find out what kind of chemotherapy your mother is to receive, and read up or ask questions about potential side effects. Side-effects of chemotherapy can be very manageable now, and it is good to know what options she will have in dealing with her side-effects.

Your mom is relatively young, and with any luck she will tolerate the chemo reasonably well. What may help her through this is a support group -- is she in contact with a support group in her town? I may be able to help you locate a support group if you would like.

If you have any other questions about anything, feel free to ask. And do consider registering as a wikiCancer member -- other members and users will be able to leave suggestions for your mom on your profile page which you may find useful.

Best of luck to you and your mom.
